Why We Recommend

In a region surrounded by beautiful scenery, delectable eats, and more wineries, breweries, and distilleries than one could handle (legally) in a single trip, new kid on the block, Rove Estate is standing out.
Nestled on a hill in Leelanau County surrounded by cherry trees and luscious grape vines, the unique Irish themed winery has a story to tell.
Young entrepreneurs, McKenzie and Creighton Gallagher took their family heritage and dream of owning a winery, and made it a reality in May of 2016.  All the while balancing family life to raise their four beautiful children. Creighton, one of 10 siblings and a fifth generation farmer knows a thing or two about what it takes to make things grow and flourish on the outside, while McKenzie pours her heart into the winery, catering to every desire. Because here, the Gallagher's want you to feel like you're a part of their flock.
If the drive up through the vines and trees doesn't already make you smile and feel at home, the staff who always greet you at the door with a friendly "hello," will. Whether you choose to sit inside or out, there isn't a bad seat in the house. Take our word for it, the outside view from the wrap-around deck is a must see.  Clear or cloudy, sunsets at Rove Estate are stunning, peaceful, and without a doubt the best in the county and cannot be missed as you sip on your choice of wine or cider.
The Riesling and Chardonnay are perfectly crisp and refreshing for a hot summer day and the Cabernet Franc/Merlot will warm you from the inside out on those chilly fall and winter evenings. Still cold? Not to worry.  Space heaters and blankets are on the house as customers can feel even more at home while they sip, nibble, and bask in the scenery that surrounds them.
If you're not so much a wine fan, a delicious pear or cherry cider is sure to quench your thirst. Pair your glass with a bountiful meat and cheese plate or some tasty bruschetta, Rove makes this a perfect before dinner destination. Got kids? No problem.  Like we said, Rove Estate wants you to feel like family, and they welcome the youngsters (including their own).
And here's an inside scoop, locals and tourists alike will love Friday nights at Rove where they can enjoy not only an amazing sunset, but also tunes from local artists who perform on the patio (weather pending), or inside the tasting room. It's an intimate experience that makes you feel like you're VIP.
Whether you're looking for a place to just stop and sample some wine, or you want to take your time to unwind and relax with a full glass, bountiful scenery and warm staff, Rove Estate is your flocking destination, "a destination elevated."

What's Up Recommendation

The 2015 Riesling will shock even the driest of wine lovers. It's unique  flavors of peach, lemon, and dried apricot will send your taste buds on a tailspin! It's perfect with that large meat and cheese plate which comes complete with a delicious olive mix. Yum! And did we mention the sunset?
